2012 came and it is now about to pass my life in 4 hours time.
This has been an extremely important year for me.
One day when I was 10 years old, my only remaining big and fat goldfish residing in a jar, died.
The goldfish was female – she was pregnant that time. I really was fascinated with her as she was bigger than most of the normal goldfish, and because she was pregnant, her belly was really bulging in both sides.
Yes, I admit. I am a great talker. I talk a lot.
One bright, sunny day when we were in College, we were on our way to Cabatangan in Zamboanga City (Philippines). We were all on board my classmate’s pick-up jeep. It was a bumpy ride as it was a dirt road – not even cemented. We were all chatting away so loudly and laughing and everything when suddenly I was the only one talking.
Now that I remembered it, my Spanish Colleagues call me by a special name: China. That is Chi-Na (Tsi-na), pronounced the way it is spelled – syllabically, and not China as in China the country.
When I was a pre-schooler, my father told me that I had that ability to remember things and keep them in a space on my brain called “memory.”
He said he can prove this because that time I was already able to memorize my very first poem: Aching Tooth.
Nightmare Before Christmas
I remember before when I was in the University, some 12 to 15 years ago, I had a classmate-friend who called me “Nightmare.” She called me Nightmare because I was so skinny. And I wore eyeglasses. She was one of the few people who can easily get into my nerves and we always fight. But despite that, we belong to the same circle of friends and defended each other from other people. Nobody can mess with us friends, but we can mess with each other. And “we” mess with each other A LOT!
December 25. Christmas Day.
Today we celebrated Christmas with Zoë for the first time. The second time for me and Armand.
It was really nice.
Zoë woke me up at 07:15 with her mumbling. Simba also by my face pawing his way for breakfast.
Armand fast asleep.
I stood up at 07:30 and proceeeded to Zoë’s bed to greet my little princess a very Merry Christmas!
As always, she was laughing and giggling when she saw her Mama enter her room.
